From his three medal performance at the 1994 World Championships in Barcelona it was obvious that Jim would be a force to contend with. His dedication and tenacity paid off, as he returned from Atlanta with three Paralympic gold medals, establishing a world record in discus (41.26m) at the same time. He also won gold in discus at the Sydney Paralympics (2000), and gold in shot put at the 2007 Parapan American Games (Rio de Janeiro).
