Adam was introduced to wheelchair basketball at Variety Village at the age of nine. He his debut in 1997 at the inaugural Junior Men’s World Wheelchair Basketball Championships in Toronto, where he secured a gold as a member of Team Canada. As Captain of Team Ontario, he scored the game-winning basket with five seconds remaining on the clock to secure the gold medal at the Canada Games in 1999. That same year he was named to the Canadian Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team.

At the 2001 Junior World Championships in Blumenau, Brazil, his game-winning free throw secured Canada’s spot in the finals, and they claimed their second consecutive Junior World Championship As a member of Team Canada he won gold at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece.

He has a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois, and completed the Prosthetics and Orthotics Technician program at George Brown College.

Adam retired from the sport in 2017.
